Party-Switch Deadline Approaches for September Municipal Primaries

Connecticut election officials reminded voters about the state’s three-month waiting period for people switching from one political party to another. To participate in the September 9 municipal primary as a member of a different party, an already-enrolled voter generally had to change affiliation by June 9. Unaffiliated voters were treated differently and could enroll in a party closer to the primary.
